Women and Children Fund

The Women and Children's Fund was created by Michael and Krystin Downes to support our work with women and children.

Contributions to this fund are restricted to programming for women and children only.

The Willows Fund:

The Willows Fund was created to give individuals and organizations a way to help the growing number of people in need of addiction treatment, who lack the ability to pay for the full cost of their care.  This restricted fund is managed by the SBH Board of Directors to support existing services, and make possible the development of new and more efficient programs for persons with inadequate health insurance coverage.  The Willows Fund is generally used for larger gifts towards sustaining key SBH programs and priorities.

Sponsorship of SBH Fundraising Events:

SBH provides sponsorship opportunities at all levels for individuals and organizations.  Key annual events include: Mark Lundholm Concert, and The Syracuse Auto Dealers Charity Preview.

Categories of Funds

When you give to SBH there are three categories your funds may be placed in:

Unrestricted Funds – Unrestricted funds are agency funds which may be used for any of the purposes for which the agency exists.  All unconditional donations are to be placed in the unrestricted fund account.

Designated Funds – Designated funds are agency funds which have been provided to the agency for a specifically defined purpose.  Designated funds are sometimes called restricted funds.

Operating Funds – Operating funds are funds that have been made available to the agency from unrestricted accounts or restricted accounts where the donor has agreed to provide such funds for the agency’s operational purposes.
